”Nicolae Testemitanu” University - at the ”Be a Pro. Choose to be a teacher!” Event to promote higher education

Moldova for EducationRepresentatives of ”Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in the ”Be a Pro. Choose to be a professor!”, event promoting higher education and the teaching profession, organized by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova under the title ”Moldova for Education”.

The event included a fair of educational offers from universities in the Republic of Moldova, which brought together four thousand students, teachers, parents and representatives of educational institutions from across the country.

Thus, vice-rectors, deans and vice-deans of faculties, professors and students of Nicolae Testemitanu University discussed with the graduates and their parents about the bachelor's, integrated and master's degree programs, the opportunities to study at home and build a career in the field of medicine and pharmacy in Moldova, providing them with information and promotional materials regarding the educational offer of our university.

By actively participating in cardiopulmonary resuscitation workshops, students learned and applied certain vital techniques for saving people's lives, under the guidance of medical professionals. 

Moldova for EducationThe students also had the opportunity to test the virtual reality (VR) glasses used in the teaching process at Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. VR glasses represent a revolutionary tool in medical education, offering a safe, interactive and efficient platform for studying fundamental disciplines, such as human anatomy and physiology, and for developing clinical skills. At the same time, the young people tested a high-fidelity simulator, applied in medical training to train basic surgical skills of future doctors. The students were guided by the team of the University Center for Simulation in Medical Training and members of the Association of Medical Students and Residents of Moldova.

The festive part of the closing of the Education Week was attended by Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, Dan Perciun, Minister of Education and Research, and Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee for Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sports and Mass Media, who extended congratulations and gratitude to the parents, and encouraged the young people to build their future at home and contribute to the prosperity of our country.

Subsequently, potential candidates for studies were sensitized and motivated by several teachers to embrace one of the noblest professions - that of a teacher, after which the audience enjoyed an artistic program.

The action was carried out in the context of the "Learn in Moldova" campaign and the "Education Week", 2nd edition, on May 25, 2025, at the Chisinau Arena.
